Jason Zaklan was a Death Commando.[1]

History[edit]

Jason Zaklan was a small child often picked on and beaten up at school, that blossomed into a tallish lean young man during puberty. He took up martial arts and excelled thanks to his natural aptitude and misplaced rage waiting to be unleashed. He won several tournaments and various planetary awards for his kung fu prowess.

That got his some fame and finally Capellan Confederation officials and military personnel offered him access to the most exclusive martial arts programs in the nation, where he stood out. As Capellan people consider the MechWarrior as the ultimate combatant, he shifted to that assignment, but whereas his skills should have made him graduate top of his class, his scuffles with upper-class students marred his record.

While he was one of the youngest MechWarriors to ever achieve ace status, he was also one of the most punished because of his run-ins with fellow MechWarriors or various commanders. This made him bounce around companies and regiments as no commander was able to make him adjust.

Sao-shao Martin Wu, a decorated Death Commando officer, saw the potential in Jason and after studying him and testing his strength personally, offered him the chance to enter Death Commando training, despite reservations within CCAF and Maskirovka.

He worked very hard to adapt and excel at the rigorous training, one he found challenging and also companions he found where worth. When his training was complete, Zaklan was marked for observation and possible elevation to undercover status.

During a short period he proved to be a capable and lethal asset serving with distinction in operations on Bithinia, Irian, and Warlock. Zaklan was often assigned mission roles that dictated rapid close-quarters contact with enemy forces and whenever possible, his BattleMech was either built with, or retrofitted to include, some type of melee weapon.

He was released to NOC status after exposing internal security breaches and gathering intelligence on Canopian cells operating within Capellan space.

Sent to Homestead to locate and develop potential intelligence assets within the Crucis March[1], where he was when Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE was launched, he enacted standard protocols and initiated resistance activities on Homestead.

He contacted the Third Confederation Reserve Cavalry within the planetary resistance, and coordinated with them for his own operations, finally getting most support from the Youling Zhanshi lance and his commanding officer Arthur Chin. When he discovered that Warrior House Lu Sann was soon to arrive, he started to identify assets crucial to the Illician Lancers command, and quickly eliminating them ensuring the success of the eventual counterassault.[2] His whereabouts after the 22nd of November 3069 are unknown.[2]
