Jeremy Carlson was a battalion commander in the Third Confederation Reserve Cavalry during the Fourth Succession War.[1]

Major Carlson, commanding a force composed of a battalion from the Third Confederation Reserve Cavalry and two companies from Trimaldi's Secutors and Lothar's Fusiliers, participated in the Capellan Confederation's invasion of Kawich in January 3029. Tasked with destroying the Federated Suns' supply depot in the city of Jamou, Carlson and his troops were not prepared to run into three regiments of conventional forces and the First Battalion of the First Davion Guards. Carlson quickly realized that his troops stood no chance of accomplishing their objective and ordered them to veer off in the hope of regrouping with their DropShips and retreating off-world, however an entire company of his mixed force chose to charge the First Guards' positions and were quickly destroyed. Carlson's retreat was tracked and harassed by Davion aerospace forces and the delay caused by these repeated strafing runs gave both the First and Third Battalions of the First Guards enough time to catch up with Carlson's soldiers. The ensuing battle lasted only an hour and, by the fight's end, Carlson's unit was completely eliminated.[1]
