Jing Wei Chui was the commanding officer of the recon lance of Alpha Company, Second Battalion, Third McCarron's Armored Cavalry Regiment during the Dark Age Era.[1]

On the fifth day of the Capellan Confederation's conquest of New Syrtis, a Federated Suns mobile headquarters was detected 600 kilometers from the front lines. With the bulk of the Confederations' forces already engaged in combat, Sang-wei Chui and a fellow MechWarrior were dispatched to serve as a hunter-killer unit in order to eliminate the Davion leadership. After five days of sneaking through enemy-held terrain, Chui's team was discovered by a lance of Wolfhounds and Hatchetmen. Although significantly outclassed by the enemy force, the Capellans downed the first Wolfhound with a headshot and dealt heavy damage to the other by relying upon their range advantage, disabling it after enduring damage of their own. After the Capellans used their speed to take the Hatchetmen apart from a distance, the FedSuns' headquarters was forced to relocate in order to avoid destruction, disrupting the Davions' command and control apparatus and enabling the Confederation to win the battle for Brandon's Crossroads.[2][3]
Despite being a veteran of two dozen battles, Chui turned down promotions on three separate occasions in order to remain a lance commander. Her stated reasoning was that she did not want to be responsible for the lives of any more soldiers than she already was, relegating her to indefinite command of Alpha Company, Second Battalion's reconnaissance lance.[1]
