Joe Cataio was the commanding officer of the Third Canopian Light Horse as of 3085.[1]

Major Cataio, commanding the Third Battalion of the Third Canopian Light Horse, was stationed on Adherlwin in 3064.[2] During the Jihad, the Word of Blake's Forty-first Shadow Division hit the Third Light Horse extremely hard and Cataio was left as the senior surviving officer after the death of Second Battalion's Major Elizabeth DeLaHunt in February 3072. Cataio would go on to survive the rest of the conflict and gained an official promotion to colonel and commander of the Third Light Horse after the Jihad's end.[3] By 3085, Colonel Cataio and the Third Light Horse were stationed on Borgan's Rift.[1]
