Johnston "Old Man" Greene was a notable officer in the Thumper Assault Regiment during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Leftenant Colonel Greene served in the Filtvelt Citizens Militia's early years and chose to remain with the Filtvelt Coalition even after his homeworld reunited with the Federated Suns. In 3129, Greene retired to the world of Skepptana but kept his BattleMech in order to serve alongside the planet's local militia. When the Federated Suns requested aid from the Coalition in 3144, Greene took a demotion to acting leftenant in order to join with the Thumper Assault Regiment. On Anjin Muerto, Greene pulled strings in order to be posted to the Suns' Sixth Syrtis Fusiliers as an "official Filtvelt observer" and was soon fighting in the Dragon's Tongue against the Draconis Combine's supply bases. In a particularly fierce battle, Greene's overheated machine exploded just after he decapitated a Combine 'Mech with a PPC shot. He claimed his downed opponent's 'Mech as salvage and ultimately restored it to service as his own.[1]
BattleMechs[edit]
Leftenant Johnston Greene piloted an aged Panther BattleMech named Abigirl until its destruction. He replaced it with the Abigirl II, a captured Draconis Combine PNT-14R model Panther.[1]
