History[edit]

Jonas Saunders was a staunch Swordsworn supporter who was forced to take his leave from the military when House Davion came calling to absorb their worlds. He was unwilling to give up combat and decided to migrate to Solaris VII[1], where he continued to keep his skills in the cockpit honed just in case the Swordsworn ever need him again.[2]

Though Jonas Saunders frequented all the right parties, gossip by media outlets reported he's was also just as comfortable staying at home, where he was assembling 'Mech models of previous Solaris champions.[3]

He was in Solaris when the Wolf Empire conquered the world. When the Wolves allowed the Games to continue, he was surprised like most gladiators like Saunders, and didn't expect himself facing a wave of Wolf contenders, determined to "test the mettle" of these "pseudo-warriors".[4]

Saunders found himself squaring off against MechWarrior Mariesa, a Wolf Empire MechWarrior piloting a Warwolf Prime in the Steiner Coliseum. The fight was brutal, and though Saunders was at a severe disadvantage, he managed to prevail, thanks to several solid hits from his TSEMPs, which shut down Mariesa's Warwolf long enough for him to cripple it permanently using his lasers and feet.[4]

But in the end, he decided to return to the Federated Suns and got assigned a lance in the the Sixth Crucis Lancers in time to participate in Operation Dawn, where he so Duke Erik Sandoval, as Prince's Champion, fight to reclaim New Avalon.[1]

Tactics[edit]

Cynosure sacrificed some in the way of special equipment. In an effort to overcame its slower speed, Cynosure packed a TSEMP punch to slow down the opposition long enough to bring its long-range missiles to bear. Toward the end, Cynosure tried not to become a victim of its own tactics, by adding a couple clicks of Electronic Camouflage, encouraging its opponents to came at it head on - which, in the end, was probably for the best: Not many units can pull off a screaming don't-hit-me-orange without blinding some poor pilot in the process.[2]

Notes[edit]

Tactics and Secrets:
- Are you out of your mind?
- High-Octane Construction Orange paint job on a 'Mech?
- With Wolf Hunters Metallic Red highlights, if you please.
- Flamin' 'Mech will be visible from a mile off...
- That’s the point. Look up Cynosure in a dictionary sometime.
