Joseph Nostra was a Bloodnamed warrior and commanding officer of Clan Nova Cat's Nova Cat Rangers during the Second Combine-Dominion War.[1]

In mid-3099, Star Colonel Joseph and the Nova Cat Rangers were stationed on Caripare when it came under imminent threat of invasion from the forces of the Ghost Bear Dominion. Joseph prepared his defenses by emptying much of the massive munitions stockpile within Fort Felis in order to arm volunteer fighters from outside the clan's warrior caste. By the time the Bears' Fourth Bear Regulars and Seventy-third Battle Cluster arrived on 31 July, Fort Felis was defended by a Binary of Joseph's BattleMechs and a Trinary of volunteer tankers and infantrymen. As the Fourth Bear Regulars engaged Fort Felis' defenders, Joseph and the Nova Cat Rangers came under heavy assault from the Seventy-third Battle Cluster as they attempted to evacuate Nova Cat's assets from the city of Dabuteshire.[1]
The fighting between the Seventy-third Battle Cluster and the Nova Cat Rangers quickly devolved into a vicious struggle, with the Rangers committed to defending the evacuating sibkos and creches and the Seventy-third dedicated to the destruction of the Rangers for their actions on Halesowen in 3096. The Rangers fought on even after their munitions were depleted and their weapons were disabled, with Joseph perishing after pinning an enemy Warhammer IIC against a collapsing building. By 7 August, Caripare had fallen under Ghost Bear control and the Nova Cat Rangers were no more, although the Seventy-third Battle Cluster had been nearly wiped out in the fighting.[1]
