Josiah Ward was a Bloodnamed officer of Clan Wolf during the Dark Age Era.[1]

When Clan Wolf began producing its new Wulfen BattleMech, Star Colonel Josiah publicly declared the machine to be "tainted by Spheroid dishonor" in an attempt to politically undermine Khan Seth Ward. saKhan Garner Kerensky responded by challenging Josiah to a Trial of Grievance while operating the first Wulfen prototype. While most observers assumed that Josiah held a distinct advantage due to his 'Mech's superior firepower, saKhan Kerensky used the new machine's speed to keep outside of Josiah's effective range and his 'Mech was soon torn apart by his opponent's accurate fire. As a result of this Trial, Kerensky's configuration became the inspiration for the Wulfen's B configuration and all public complaints about the 'Mech halted.[1][2]
