Jules Tanaka was a Draconis Elite Strike Teams agent leading false flag operations along the Free Worlds League/Lyran Commonwealth border.[1]

Jules Tanaka was the commander of a DEST unit that was tasked with disrupting the stable, economically prosperous relationship between House Steiner and House Marik. His team conducted false flag raids across their border with increasing intensity and frequency in the hopes of triggering a full-blown war between the two Great Houses.[1]
Steiner's Lyran Intelligence Corps worked with Marik's intelligence agency SAFE and learned of two locations that were expected to be targeted next. They contracted a mercenary company which successfully protected an agricultural facility on Colfax and a base on Nestor, and in the process their BattleROM footage exposed the identity of Tanaka and his team. The mercenaries then attacked Tanaka's base on Hyde and eliminated the entire DEST unit.[1]
