System Description[edit]
Kagoshima is located near the Shimonoseki and Chatham systems and is Coreward and Spinward from Terra. It is known to have at least three planets and a recharge station at both its nadir and zenith jump points as of 3080.[1][2]

Planetary Description[edit]
Kagoshima III, or simply Kagoshima, is the capital world of the Kagoshima Prefecture. The world is noteworthy as the birthworld of both Subhash Indrahar and Takashi Kurita as well as home to the prestigious Wisdom of the Dragon military academy. It is also an important industrial and logistical world to the Combine. The planet is orbited by a single moon named Shinmachi.[1][34]

During the final years of the Star League, Kagoshima was the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[35]
Sun Tzu School of Combat Expansion[edit]
After major investment by then Coordinator Theodore Kurita in the 3050s and 3060s, the Sun Tzu School of Combat was able to open a satellite facility on Kagoshima built specifically for Battle Armor training.[36]
Jihad[edit]
During the Jihad, when Luthien was attacked and Pesht was focusing on defensive matters, Kagoshima as the capital world of the Prefecture where the two important worlds were located stepped into the gap to ensure that the machinery of government continued to run.[1]
Nova Cat Rebellion[edit]
On 3 January 3143, the last remaining combat forces of Clan Nova Cat were defeated by the First Amphigean Light Assault Group on Kagoshima thus ending the Nova Cat Rebellion against the Combine.[37]
