Kate was a Star Commander Beta Galaxy during the Clan Invasion era.[1]

Fed up with the dysfunctional organization of Beta Galaxy as the result of Warden and Crusader Cloisters, Kate repeatedly sought a transfer to Alpha Galaxy. These requests were all denied, resulting in her demand for the Trial of Refusal.[1]
