History[edit]
He worked for Fuh Teng and Kai Allard-Liao in the Cenotaph Stables.
He was with Fuh Teng and Larry Acuff on the 19 January 3056, in their welcome back to Solaris VII.[1]
He was the key person in the detection of Tormano Liao's plan that had manipulated Peter Steiner-Davion and Khorsakhov's Cossacks into leading an attack on a Capellan-aligned mercenary unit on Shiloh that would have almost certainly resulted in his death [2]. He was also able to find Kai's son, which allowed him to act. Only the timely intervention of Kai Allard-Liao averted the disaster that likely would have forced Victor into a war against the Capellan Confederation to avenge his brother's death.[3]
Notes[edit]
The character of Keith Smith is named for a real person by the same name. Smith won the right to appear as character in Assumption of Risk in an auction held in honor of game designer Curtis Scott to provide for his young family, beating out Larry Acuff. Author Michael Stackpole and Keith Smith agreed to give him a part in the book as well in return for an additional amount of money.[4]
