Kenneth Hutchinson was a Bloodnamed warrior and the commanding officer of Clan Star Adder's Rho Provisional Galaxy as of 3067.[1]
History[edit]
Kenneth began his military career as a Star Commander, having successfully scored two kills in his Trial of Position, but willingly took an assignment to a solahma cluster in order to work indulge his fascination with armored vehicles. Despite Clan Star Adders' stigma against conventional military forces, Kenneth later earned the rank of Star Colonel and led his Cluster with distinction in the 3059 Burrock Absorption, destroying forty-three Clan Blood Spirit BattleMechs in the process.[2] By 3067, Kenneth earned an additional promotion to the rank of Galaxy Commander and led Rho Provisional Galaxy's four Clusters in the Tanis system.[1]
The Wars of Reaving[edit]
After the close of the Wars of Reaving, it was discovered that Kenneth used his position as head of Rho Galaxy to funnel former Clan Burrock personnel into the Tanis system as part of the Clan's illegal efforts to revive itself. He also provided support to The Society's research endeavors in exchange for intelligence on mothballed naval vessels and the means of hijacking additional WarShips, which he passed on to the revived Burrocks before Rho Galaxy was transferred out of the system.[3]
When the extent of the Tanis Burrocks' rebellious activity became apparent to Clan Star Adders' leadership in 3073, they decided to have all of the Clan's former Burrock warriors prove their loyalty by fighting a Trial of Position, with failure resulting in a demotion out of the warrior caste or outright execution. In an act of protest against what he saw as the third Trial of Position required of his comrades—including their sibko graduation and their 3059 Absorption into the Adders—Kenneth issued a Trial of Refusal against the idea. Although he put up a fierce fight against Loremaster Fletcher Daniels, Kenneth's vehicle overheated a second before his opponent's BattleMech, costing him the Trial and later leading a quarter of the former Burrocks of Clan Star Adder to lose their warrior status.[4]
