The Kerensky Bloodname was a Clan Wolf founding legacy.[1]

History[edit]
Origins[edit]
“ | It is with great pleasure that I announce which Clan shall become home to my heart and the hearts of those Kerenskys who will follow. The Clan I have chosen possesses a collective intelligence I admire, the burning passion of true hunters that I desire, and, above all, is blessed with the spirit which will serve as a beacon to all the rest. I choose to mingle my blood legacy with Clan Wolf. | ” |
— Nicholas Kerensky, Sometime after the conclusion of Operation KLONDIKE[2] |
Kerensky was the most prestigious of all Bloodnames due to both founders, Nicholas and Andery Kerensky, being the founders of the Clans. Initially without a Clan, their joining with Clan Wolf created friction amongst some Clans.[3]
Wars of Reaving[edit]
In December 3071, the renamed 246th Wolf Strike Cluster and the 509th Wolf Solahma Battle, dropped on and around the Kerensky Blood Chapel in Strana Mechty. Led by Star Colonel Ramil Kerensky of the Clan Wolf Watch. He opened a challenge to all Clans to prove themselves worthy of the Kerensky Heritage by retaking the Chapel from his forces. This prompted several warriors to attack the Wolves; as the day wore on, the numbers involved grew until ilKhan Andrews announced that whichever Clan could take the Chapel back would be awarded the Kerensky Bloodname. Chaos ensued as the Clans all vied for the honor with ninety warriors assaulting the entrenched Wolves over three days. Wolf Elementals destroyed the Winson Blood Chapel and as Ramil Kerensky fell he detonated the Kerensky Blood Chapel. This action provided the cover for a Wolf Watch team to penetrate the main genetics repository and destroy the master genetic files of Jennifer Winson, Nicholas and Andery Kerensky. The 246th was destroyed in this action.[4]
It was later found out that plan to attack the Kerensky Blood Chapel was a secret ploy to ruse the other clans, while Clan Wolf secured the real legacy of the Kerensky Bloodheritage. This was shown after the formation of the Council of Six in which Wolf Khan, Vlad Ward revealed that he actually had the legacy with him all along in an attempt to bring it to the Inner Sphere.[5]
Dark Age Era[edit]
The Kerensky bloodlines were held exclusively by Clan Wolf and Clan Wolf-in-Exile, both of which continued decanting sibkos with it. The bloodlines started experiencing a decline after the Word of Blake Jihad. Fewer sibkos were created from their bloodlines every year. Those cadets who successfully completed their training failed to live up to the elevated standards established by the Bloodname’s lineage. Garner Kerensky and Anastasia Kerensky, which became saKhans of Clan Wolf, were among the few exceptions.[6]

Notes[edit]
- This legacy is considered a General one, with warriors from its sibkos qualifying for all Clan combat styles.[74]
- Kerensky Vision, described to Phelan Ward as the patience of the warrior and a quality most of the Clan Warriors lack.[75]
- Most of the Bloodhouse Bloodnamed members bring unblooded aides to the Clan Councils, marking this is an endorsement of sorts for future Bloodname Nominations. The Kerenskys are supposed to hold themselves above the political infighting of the other Bloodhouses, a tradition that began with Nicholas Kerensky, but ended with Natasha Kerensky, who was the first Kerensky to bring an unblooded warrior to one of such meetings.[75]
- Except for the Bloodname Founder, it is not possible to know from which of the two Kerensky Legacies the Clan Warriors belong to. The list of the Bloodnamed warriors from Andery Kerensky Bloodname is included here.
