Kiley was a Star Commander in the Wolf Empire touman, still in a sibko left in the Empire when Khan Alaric Ward and nearly all of Clan Wolf's warriors invaded Terra in 3151.[1]

Dark Age Era[edit]
Kiley was a young cadet in a sibko, trained on the Empire world of Midkiff.[2]
ilClan Era[edit]
After Clan Wolf became the ilClan, the defenseless Empire was soon raided by mercenary units. In most of their attacks, they met barely any opposition – with a single exception, the planet Midkiff. The mercenaries' arrival took four day since they traveled from a standard jump point. At least one sibko was in training, one member of which was Kiley. Their training officer, Point Commander Helene, considered their training complete, and prepared a hasty Trial of Position against the cadets, with the cadre as their opposing force. All of the cadre died in the fight, and two cadets failed their Trial, but four of them, almost a full Star, graduated, including Kiley. When the mercenaries landed, in April 3151, Kiley and her three mates were ready to receive them, piloting ancient training 'Mechs which could be repaired at the time.[3][4]
Three of Kiley's sibkin died in the fight; she not only survived, she also managed to defeat and drive off the raiders, and even to capture some, who were interrogated by the Watch, discovering they had been hired to test Wolves defenses, though they did not know who had hired them.[5]
Kiley, who had become the only warrior on Midkiff, informed her superiors of the battle, awaiting reinforcements. Star Colonel Othar, the de facto Viceroy of the Empire, was so impressed by her success that he ordered her to travel to the Empire's capital, Gienah, as soon as she could. In July of that same year, she arrived. Othar received her personally and congratulated the young woman for her victory, immediately promoting her to Star Commander. After ordering her to share her history with a group of Elemental warriors in training, Othar made her follow him and his two aides, Star Captain Radu and Ricard.[6][7]
Only then did he tell her why she was there. She knew the Empire was defenseless, and was in the process of creating two new Galaxies, Rufus Galaxy and Lupus Galaxy. He was recruiting warriors from everywhere – trueborns after their sibko completion, solahma, freeborns – but more than anything, he needed leaders, capable warriors, and he had chosen her to lead a new Cluster, still not created.[8]
Initially, Kiley opposed Othar's minor alterations of tradition, but after he told her the critical situation on the Empire, she was worried. She felt impressed after Othar told her he was planning to raise ten full Clusters.
As Kiley had to lead a Cluster, Othar must have promoted her to Star Colonel.[9]
Physical Description[edit]
Kiley was described as a tall woman, with striking hair, almost electric platinum blond, wide-set eyes, and an oval face.[9]
