Kip Monroe was the commander of the FCS Alacrity during Operation BULLDOG.[1]

In June 3059, Captain Kip Monroe participated in the invasion of Luzerne as part of Operation BULLDOG. The Second Star League invasion fleet expected to bypass the Clan Smoke Jaguar defenders when they entered the system. However, after a raid on Luzerne in 3055, the Jaguars concentrated their defense around the planet instead of being spread out across the system. When the SLDF forces neared the planet, they found that they were outnumbered and outgunned. Monroe's Alacrity and several other combat DropShips, with aerospace fighter support, engaged the Clan defenders in an effort to protect the ground troops who would be landing on Luzerne. The resulting fight was a disaster with half the troop transports destroyed and the rest scattered across the planet.[1][2]
Despite this, Kip Monroe survived the battle and would write about his experiences in The Expendables: The Luzerne Debacle published by New Avalon Military Press in 3059.[1]
