Located deep in Free Worlds League space, Kiyev III had been identified at some point during Hanse Davion's reign as a staging point for attack forces. Consequently, House Davion sent a reconnaissance mission there—the Davion Special Scout Task Force (SSTF). The two heavy 'Mechs were spotted on Kiyev III near a Marik base in mountaneous terrain and evacuated under fire, uncovering the SSTF and creating a notable drop-off in popularity for Prince Davion.[1]
Canonicity[edit]
The only BattleTech source mentioning Kiyev III is the TCI Model Set #12 (scenario "Easy Money"). While an official product that was sold by TCI with full endorsement and cooperation of FASA, it does not meet the current critera for canon and must thus be considered apocryphal.
