Krupp Armament Works was a weapons manufacturer located in the region of Germany on Terra. They produced weapons for anyone who could afford them, including the Word of Blake.
Overview[edit]
During Operation SCOUR's assault on Terra, Krupp's Budapest facility was taken over by the Word of Blake's 4th Division. They used the fortified assembly lines as a base and tried to rebuild their damaged forces. Coalition forces were able to drive them out, and troops under the command of General Andrew Redburn stripped the facility for all useful parts and weapons. Krupp's management objected, but there was little they could do to stop the looting.[1]
These objections, and Krupp's insistence that the newborn Republic of the Sphere provide reparations, led the company to enter into secret talks with other manufacturers affected by Operation SCOUR to file lawsuits suing numerous parties involved in the Coalition for lost profits. When Devlin Stone's intelligence network got wind of this in late 3082, the Exarch negotiated a number of behind-closed door contracts for equipment and parts with Krupp, an obvious attempt to try and placate the manufacturer.
When Krupp filed the lawsuits anyway in 3084, Stone saw it as personal betrayal, triggering a acrimonious rift between the Republic, Stone, and the company.[2]
As part of the settlement between Krupp and the Republic, technicians from Clan Ghost Bear and Clan Diamond Shark upgraded several factories in the Republic, including Krupp's. For nearly fifty years these factories turned out equipment that rivaled the Clans' gear.[3]
