Kyle Arakaki was a notable VTOL commander in the Seventh Ghost Regiment during the Dark Age Era.[1]

History[edit]

During the Draconis Combine's invasion of the Federated Suns world of Sakhara V, a series of mistakes made by the Seventh Ghost's commander allowed the Sakhara Academy Training Battalion to destroy the unit's infantry and a third of its BattleMechs. When Tai-sa Morigu Oksana died of a massive heart attack, Chu-sa Takeji Yoshizawa ordered Tai-i Arakaki to lead his VTOL company into battle. Circling behind the Sakhara Battalion's positions, Arakaki's pilots unleashed a hail of Thunderbolt 10 missiles, forcing the green academy MechWarriors into a route. Arakaki's aircraft continued to pursue their fleeing opponents, switching to their PPCs when their ammunition ran out and providing accurate coordinates for aerospace strikes. Only a third of the Training Battalion made it back to Sakhara Academy, where they were wiped out the next day.[2][3]

Arakaki personally accounted for the elimination of four Sakhara BattleMechs during the battle and his tactics earned him the recognition of now-Tai-sa Yoshizawa, who recommended him for the Bushido Blade. The Seventh Ghost began deploying from their DropShips with Arakaki's company at the front, where they would provide the disembarking troops with reconnaissance and air cover. Arakaki was also working to have a flight of new, heavy Gauss rifle-equipped VTOLs assigned to his company.[1]

Combat Vehicle[edit]

Tai-i Kyle Arakaki piloted a Kamakiri Attack VTOL during the battle for Sakhara V.[1]
