The Last Frontier system is the location of at least one habitable world, and as of June 3152 was located in the Rasalhague Province of the Rasalhague Dominion.[1]

Succession Wars Era[edit]

During the Ronin War, no major battle were noted as taking place on Last Frontier.[33] There was however a battered company of ronin that fled the fighting on Jezersko which was met by an equally battered DCMS company led by Tai-sa Bruce Morganstern. A fierce battle ensued on the evening of 14 November 3034, with the last ronin BattleMech falling before the sun rose.[34]

Heavy fighting was reported on Last Frontier. Major Knute Kurita's company of heavy BattleMechs were on planet fighting the ronin.[35]

Clan Invasion Era[edit]

Last Frontier was the first of Clan Ghost Bear's targeted planets during the third wave of Operation REVIVAL, an intended stepping stone for their eventual conquest of Rasalhague itself. On 23 June 3050, saKhan Theresa DelVillar led the Silveroot Keshik, Ourse Keshik, and the First Bear Guards' 310th Assault Trinary in their assault on the planet, where they confronted the defending First Freemen regiment at Brighton Rock and Ascension. Compared to the elite of the Ghost Bear touman, the inexperienced Freemen had no real chance of victory but nevertheless gave it their all. In the end they managed to extract a heavy price from the Ghost Bears when Ourse Keshik, personally led by saKhan DelVillar, raided one of the Freemen's supply caches on 24 June. Överste Knute Kurita's defending company of 'Mechs opened fire on the charging warriors and, surely by chance, scoured a direct missile hit on the Ghost Bear saKhan. Severely injured but still alive, she was removed from the battlefield by her Elemental Point, but the injuries sustained caused the saKhan to slip into a coma from which she never emerged. This set in motion a series of events which would have serious consequences for the Ghost Bear Clan throughout the rest of the invasion.[36]

On 7 October 3051, a Draconis Combine raiding force secretly landed on Last Frontier. After diversionary attacks on some outlying facilities, a mercenary MechWarrior infiltrated a Ghost Bear base and stole a Kodiak assault 'Mech under cover of a radiation storm and Combine communications jamming. It is unclear whether the mercenary delivered the Kodiak to the Combine as contracted, or if he took the Kodiak for himself after killing all witnesses.[37]

Civil War Era[edit]

During the First Combine-Dominion War the Twenty-first Phalanx and Twelfth PGC were both ravaged by the Eighth Sword of Light, an assault which helped prevent a second wave of Dominion attacks against the Combine. The Grizzly 2 was born in this conflict.[38][39][40][41]


Early Republic Era[edit]

In the middle of 3084 the First Ghost and elements of the Thirteenth Sun Zhang Cadre staged a recon raid against the Third Hussar Cluster.[42]
