Part of patrol duty is to constantly cut back the fast growing jungle around the facilities. When the cutting crew fails to return in time to the Rowell World Rover, Oder decides to disembark in order to search for the crew. It is here where he is attacked and mortally wounded by a Word of Blake raiding party in Purifier battle armor.
