Legal Decisions through the Ages

Legal Decisions through the Ages was a written work, authored by Jaipur Wevensar and published by the Teller-Burrows Corporation, in 3027.[1]

Overview[edit]

This work provided a history of various legal systems, including that of the Federated Suns. One of the historical legal anomalies analyzed, was the right of the President of the High Council to overrule decisions of the New Avalon High Court, which came to be known as "tempus tardus". This right, which initially arose due to a need to dispossess absentee landlords who did not put needed farmland into production on food-poor colony worlds, eventually extended to all cases until it was finally abolished in 2764.[1]
