Lucien Clearwater was an officer from Beta Galaxy.[1]

Lucien Clearwater was a quick-tempered and brash warrior who cared little for rank, bloodlines, or anything else typical to a Clansman. Clearwater was able to melt the hearts of Outworlder ladies as easily as he boiled the blood of his superiors. Nothing had been able to slow the Red Raven, with pnly death capable of stopping him.[1] He gained his moniker for his tendency to end every trial covered in blood.[2]
Twice he had been able to achieved the rank of Star Captain, but had always lost it. During all the years he was active he made many elements, lost three fingers and his right eye.[2]
Khan Sterling McKenna decided to assign him to the Raven Watch instead of assigning him to a dezgra unit. This has paid dividends when in in one of his missings he founght along the Brotherhood of Randis on a raid against Tortuga, which helped to strengthen the ties with Randis.[2]
When Khan McKenna wanted to get their hands on a Re-engineered Laser, she first tried commerce of friendly trials, but after the Palmyra Debacle, that door was closed. She decided to assemble a special R-team under Lucien Clearwater to acquire a sample or die trying. The Raven Watch identified a target on Winfield: AFFS Major Jonathan Baines from the Second Periphery Guard and his VTR-12D Victor. The watch team infiltrated onto Winfield and during the following two months executed a hit-and-fade operation until they finally got Major Baines took the field with a lance to destroy those raiders. The clan infantry team blocked the Second Guard inside Bryce Canyon while Clearwater and Baines duelled. Clearwater was able to blow the Victor's left arm and leave with it accompanied by the one surviving comrade to the Alliance.[3]
