Planetary History[edit]
In 3015, a wave of Black Inferno attacks in Federated Suns space left numerous farm worlds undefended, and the Vogel's Vandals pirate band saw an opportunity to raid and regularly terrorize a vulnerable agricultural complex on Keytesville, stealing everything they could get their hands on and destroying everything else. Clinging to what little they had left and pooling their funds, the Coalition of Farmers hired a mercenary outfit to push back against the Vandals until their forces were depleted, forcing them to return to their home base on Macomb to repair and regroup. The farmers picked up the location listening in on radio chatter, and fearing the Vandals' return for revenge later, they extended their contract with the mercenaries to include assassinating their leader. Afterward, the remaining Vandals chose to flee the region, leaving the farmers free to work their fields in peace.[33]
