Manifest Destiny is a short story by Ben H. Rome that was published as introductory fiction for Jihad Turning Points: Luthien.
Plot Summary[edit]
After the arrival of Clan Nova Cat on Luthien, Word of Blake starts an operation to drive the Nova Cats off the planet in late August 3072. During this operation, Demi-Precentor Eric Hughes in his Deva and supported by a Viking is fighting against a Nova Cat. After finishing off the Clan 'Mech, Precentor Belial orders Hughes to engage a infantry Binary sheltering in a nearby building. While approaching the new target, he is ambushed by a SM1 Tank Destroyer but is able to avoid being hit due to Precentor Belial's timely warning. Subsequently, he manages to incapacitate the SM1, before casually executing the crew because of their Clan heritage.
