Hauptmann-General Markus Clarkston was the commanding officer of the First Royal Guards, with the Lyran Commonwealth, as of 3145.[1]

Clarkston, with the First Royal Guards, was based on Tharkad as of 3145.[1] Due to guilt within the unit for their failure to protect Archon Melissa Steiner from Vedet Brewer coup, Hauptmann-General Clarkston constantly drilled in his officers in bodyguard duties, despite no demand coming from Archon Trillian Steiner for him to do so.[2]
