Mason Zigler was a Lieutenant from the 1838th Royal BattleMech Regiment.[1]

He made the report to Intelligence Command about the time his unit was assigned to chase a fairly well equipped bandit group, numbering around a battalion of 'Mechs that had been raiding the border region for the past few months. The unit was sent to The Edge to pursue them, and while doing that, an unknown Lola I-class WarShip popped out of hyperspace at a pirate point between The Edge and one of its moons. That WarShip started bombarding the 1838th Royal's positions and created the distraction needed for those surviving bandits to board some DropShips and leave with that vessel in orbit. The unit lost about a battalion's worth of 'Mechs that day from between the limited engagements with the bandits and the orbital fire.[1]
