Matsuida III hosts a large and important fishing industry. Some of the fishing vessels on-planet host prisoners who volunteer for the deadly jobs in exchange for having their sentences shortened. The Draconis Combine has found this to be an effective way of disposing of prisoners without actually executing them.[37]

Planetary History[edit]

Matsuida was subject to an attack by the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns stationed in the Draconis March between 15 and 21 November 3068, following a number of cross-border raids and attacks by both Federated Suns and Draconis Combine units earlier in the year; the attack on Matsuida was unsanctioned, and was a sign of escalating tensions along the border.[28] Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery troops wouldn't arrive to attempt recapture of the planet until after the first two weeks of May 3069.[29]

Geography[edit]

Despite good sun, good position, and good planet size, Matsuida is nevertheless considered a hideous planet. Rough terrain broken only by seas of gelatinous pea green water helped earn this planet its nickname of "Nausea."[41]

Matsuida has two continents named Pau Tu and Pak Chua.[3]
