Matthew Taylor was a Bloodnamed MechWarrior in the Wolf Empire's Ninth Wolf Guards during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Star Captain Matthew earned his Taylor Bloodname after winning a place in his Trial of Bloodright through a Grand Melee. This difficult accomplishment improved his reputation in the months prior to the Battle of Skye in 3150, leading to him being reassigned from Iota Galaxy to Beta Galaxy's Ninth Wolf Guards. Assigned an experimental BattleMech and familiar with Clan Jade Falcon's tactics and preference for Death From Above strikes, Matthew scored more kills than any other Amarok pilot save for Star Captain Roy Kerensky of the Nineteenth Wolf Strikers. Matthew was also known for having a freeborn son with an aerospace pilot of the Taylor Bloodhouse, which drew criticism from the more conservative members of Clan Wolf.[1]
