BRIEFING[edit]
Defend the Kallon Industries communications array. A sizable Steiner assault force has been sighted in the region, hitting other military and civilian targets. An attack on the communications array is considered imminent.
Castle: Kallon Industries has invested nearly as much on Wernke as it has in the MechWorks on Talon. Pro-Steiner militia units have been making aggressive moves against tactically significant sites. The communications relay at Gavin’s Bend is one such site in need of defense. Steiner units are anticipated to mount an assault in force shortly.
DURING MISSION[edit]
Castle: The station is just ahead of you at Nav Point Alpha. The comm relays and base HQ are mission-critical buildings in this defensive operation. Protecting the outer vehicle bays and fuel tanks is your secondary objective.
Spectre: Roger. Moving to Gavin’s Bend main station.
Beowulf: Enemy helicopters inbound.
Spectre: Acknowledged. Looks like they nearly beat us to the punch. Engage and destroy.
Castle: Be advised, Spectre, I show another squadron of choppers moving in from the north.
Spectre: Choppers destroyed.
Beowulf: I have visual on the enemy.
Castle: I didn’t pick them up on SatCom, sir. They must be using ECM.
Spectre: Must be a forward scout lance. Let’s send them packing.
Beowulf: Enemy units are routing. The field is ours!
Spectre: Regrouping with the main body, most likely. I want a firing line at Nav Point Beta. Prepare to repel main assault force.
Castle: You called it, sir. I show three full lances moving on your position. Add an ECM lance, and call it a company.
Spectre: Time to earn those pay vouchers, people.
Spectre: Assault force neutralized. Let the little ones go. They can warn off the rest of their friends.
Castle: Excellent work, Commander. I’m posting a mission report to MercNet. Kallon Industries will be very pleased.
Spectre: It’s all about customer satisfaction, Castle.
