Overview[edit]
Overlaid on the Starmap of the Inner Sphere, red-outlined Conflict Zones are regions where MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries' various missions can be found. They are more prevalent on and in proximity to the borders of the Great Houses, though the Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC adds several zones in the interior areas where Pirates and Periphery factions are more present.
Available contracts are listed above the name of each system within a Conflict Zone, with Campaign Missions and High Reward Quests highlighted in yellow. Repairs and modifications take longer and are more costly in Conflict Zones compared to Industrial Hubs. They also have reduced selections of equipment and damaged 'Mechs to purchase and there are no available pilots to hire; however, Conflict Zones do occasionally have Black Markets, marked in purple, which often feature rare or more pristine options than usual for the region.
Each Conflict Zone has a Recommended Reputation Level as an indication of the degree of difficulty and reward for the contracts within. The Conflict Zones are static; leaving and returning will reset the available contracts but will remain at the same difficulty and tonnage levels.
Campaign Mode Conflict Zones[edit]
The following Conflict Zones are available during the Campaign, appearing as soon as they player travels to their respective location on the Inner Sphere Starmap. The Campaign Missions and High Reward Quests only appear once the required reputation level or Campaign progression is reached.

Taurian Corridor (Reputation 13-15)[edit]
The Taurian Concordat lives in constant fear of an imminent Federated Suns invasion, where in reality the Federated Suns can spare little time or even interest for that nation. The Capellan Confederation, always looking to relieve tensions on its border, is not above provoking conflict between the two other parties as a distraction, resulting in frequent conflict and highly lucrative opportunities for mercenaries in the region.

Career Mode Conflict Zones[edit]
The following Conflict Zones are exclusive to Career Mode, appearing as soon as the player travels to their respective locations on the Inner Sphere Starmap. The Campaign Mode Conflict Zones are still present but have altered Reputation level requirements to account for the various starting positions, depending on which of the Great Houses the player chooses.
Addicks PDZ (Reputation 15)[edit]
Located within the Draconis March region, the Addicks Polymorphous Defense Zone is a harsh place to live. Sandwiched between worlds controlled by Kurita and Liao, constant fighting for three centuries has left many of these worlds with deep scars. Many of these systems lack the resources to build infrastructure or fund education, making these once productive worlds feel like a backwater.
BattleMech repairs take 150% longer and cost 130% more in this region.
Border Protectorate Region (Reputation 15)[edit]
While these worlds flourished under the control of the Terran Hegemony, the Succession Wars resulted in many planets changing hands several times, often losing factories and manufacturing facilities each time. Despite their recent lack of economic standing, these systems are still heavily guarded.
BattleMech repairs take 150% longer and cost 130% more in this region.

13–14 | Davion Borderlands | +125% | +150% |
Bitter Worlds (Reputation 2-3)[edit]
Located near the furthest edge of the Federated Suns, the so-called Bitter Worlds are a collection of planets with typically hard and extreme climates, with only a handful of civilian settlements in rare temperate biomes.
Silver Fields (Reputation 4-6)[edit]
The discovery of silver on some of the planets has transformed the region from a collection of trading outposts into a mining hotspot. This has come at a cost, however, as companies originally intended to service and feed the local populace have left to pursue raw resources.
June Combat Theater (Reputation 5-7)[edit]
The June Combat Theater administrative region holds significant military presence due to its long history of fighting against Capellan Confederation and invading forces from the edge of the Inner Sphere.
Fledgling Periphery Realm (Reputation 6-7)[edit]
Far from Terra and the Davion capital, citizens of this region have long felt disassociated with the Federated Suns identity. Tensions have reached a breaking point after years of having to defend their land against raiders, all while being ignored by the Federated Suns government.
Edgeward Operational Area (Reputation 6-8)[edit]
With very little civilian governance, the region is primarily operated and owned by the Federated Suns Military Command. Despite their high presence, daring bandits and marauders are still known to conduct raids in this space.

Pirate's Edge (Reputation 6-7)[edit]
Located near the edge of the Inner Sphere and treacherously close to infamous pirate systems, these planets are under constant attack from marauders. With its far distance to any Kuritan military hubs, the local prefecture's government often resorts to hiring mercenary companies to keep its residents safe.
Production Worlds (Reputation 6-8)[edit]
This region is home to some of the oldest 'Mech production companies, including Osaka Heavy Metrics. With recent discoveries of once-forgotten memory cores, these manufacturing worlds have seen a boom, which has led to great fortune, while putting a target on their backs.
Ancient Star League Garrisons (Reputation 8-10)[edit]
The planets in this region were home to the remaining garrisons that operated in the twilight of the Star League's reign. Hundreds of years later, much of their old structures and establishments are long gone, eroded by constant war and scavenging.
Abandoned Terran Worlds (Reputation 13-14)[edit]
Located in close proximity to Terra, these were some of the earliest worlds settled by humans and occupied by the Terran Alliance in the twenty-first century. Although the alliance was overthrown by rebellion and the old settlers have been long gone, the spirit of violence and conflict still remains.

Alarion Province (Reputation 2-4)[edit]
Mostly known for its largely untapped and abundant resources and its simple and laid-back worlds, the region is named for one of the notable exceptions, the heavily industrialized Alarion boasting numerous factories and shipyards, including the only WarShip production facility within the Lyran Commonwealth to survive the early Succession Wars.

Core Systems (Reputation 2-5)[edit]
Being so far removed from any real military conflict coupled with an abundance of trade means these worlds are full of those who will do anything to get ahead, and willing to pay well for someone to do it for them. The region is well-known for being quite friendly to mercenaries despite the reputation for bribery and corruption among the ruling class.

Leisure Industries (Reputation 4-6)[edit]
The Steiner government established this region as an area for relaxation and leisure and it has become a significant tourist attraction, with Kooken's Pleasure Pit being the crown jewel. However, despite the popularity, fighting within the fringes of the region still rages, especially amongst criminal organizations.
Refinery Systems (Reputation 5-8)[edit]
The planets in this region house various refineries and industrial plants, most of which are privately owned. Rumor has it that many of the plants are in severe violation of the Ares Conventions, meaning they are likely producing prohibited chemical weapons components.
Note: This region is identified as No Man's Land in Campaign Mode.
