The Medeina was a Faslane-class Yardship belonging to Clan Wolf during the ilClan era.[1]
History[edit]
The RoSS Necessitas was one of four Faslane-class Yardships the Republic of the Sphere either salvaged or received from ComStar following the conclusion of the Word of Blake Jihad. All four Faslanes helping to bolster production in the Terran systems after the heavy damage suffered by the O'Neil and Titan Shipyards during Operation SCOUR, the Necessitas and her sister ships were decommissioned and mothballed in the late 3120s following the loss of the RoSS Iustitia in an industrial accident in 3117,[2] being placed in a storage orbit around the Saturnian moon of Phoebe.[3]
With the enactment of Fortress Republic, a number of Republic Armed Forces naval commanders began pressing for the reactivation of the Necessitas and her sister ships to bolster naval production, but safety concerns and the potential impact on state security such a reactivation would entail meant that by 3145 no serious consideration was given to such ideas.[2] Following the fall of Terra and the Republic, reluctant but ultimately compliant Belter crews followed Clan Wolf demands to reactive the Necessitas and her fellow Faslane-class vessels.[3]
As of 23 November 3151, Great Reaving on Terra ilKhan Alaric Ward announced the fate of WarShips and YardShips taken as isorla, reserving some for the ilClan but gifting others to the various Clans of the Star League. Along with the Harmonia, the Necessitas was reserved for Clan Wolf and was rechristened the Medeina.[1]
