The SLS Mercator was part of the Star League Defense Force's Third Fleet.[1]

In 2764, the SLS Mercator was the command ship of the 343rd Division, a subformation of the Thirty-fourth Reconnaissance Squadron within the SLDF Third Fleet and was the command ship of Captain Jennifer Haze. The 343rd had only recently been assembled in 2764 and had yet to deploy alongside the rest of the Thirty-fourth, still in the final stages of preparation in the Woodstock system with the other three ships in the division.[1]
