Michael Alexander was a noble from the Marian Hegemony.
History[edit]
Michael Alexander was born to a commoner family and began as a miles in the Marian Hegemony Armed Forces. He rose quickly through the ranks, starting in the infantry, rising to the combat vehicle forces, and eventually becoming a MechWarrior.[1]
Alexander was demoted twice for insubordination when refusing to follow a superior's orders. However, he rose to command V Legio eventually. Prefect Alexander was much loved by his troops, especially those of I Legio.[2]
After the attack on the capital Nova Roma on Alphard by the Word of Blake in 3071, Alexander engineered the rise of seventeen-year-old Caesar Cassius O'Reilly thirteen months later. He surprised the feuding leaders of the Hegemony, the last surviving Senator, Quintus Pullo, and the head of the MHAF, General Ivy Ward, with the appearance of the boy, finding the monetary payments former Caesar Julius O'Reilly had been making in support of Cassius.[1][3][4]
Personality and Traits[edit]
Alexander often compared himself to ancient Terran Gaius Marius, namesake of the Hegemony founded by Imperator Johann Sebastian O'Reilly.[5] His supporters and detractors described him as "coarse and arrogant," with his common beginning giving him connections with his troops but alienating his superiors and the nobles. Alexander was rumored to have been given his position in I Legio by Imperator David Gladding as simply a way to annoy the Marian Senate, a task at which Alexander excelled.[1][2]
BattleMechs[edit]
Michael Alexander piloted an Assassin BattleMech.[1]
