Mike Haufenpfahl was a young, aspiring writer and director working for Donegal Broadcasting Company. He was already heading multiple projects when they greenlit him for a low-budget project due to his other successes in the early 3000s. That project was the Immortal Warrior series which would balloon into a fantastically successful series that was still ongoing over a century later. Haufenpfahl is credited with starting it and providing the underlying narrative formula.[1][2]

Notes[edit]

  • In German, Haufen means "heap" or "stack" and Pfahl means "pole", indicating the odd character name to be a pun on BattleTech writer Mike Stackpole. The name is consistently misspelled as "Haufenpfah", omitting the "l" at the end, in Shrapnel issue #10.
