Miko Umcizi was a Captain in command of Alpha Company "The Impe", 1st Battalion of the 5th Crucis Lancers during the end of the Third Succession War.[1]

To be eligible for a posting to the Crucis Lancers, Umcizi would have to have born in the Crucis March. He took pride in his ancient Zulu chieftain ancestors and wore traditional Zulu dress, particularly a leopard skin cloak. His company also adopted this heritage, decorating their Mechs in Zulu style. He was known to drive his unit to the edge of their endurance, which though it resulted in some grumbling also cultivated intense loyalty and an impressive combat record.[1]

In 3028 the Fifth Crucis Lancers were noted as being an RCT without 'Mechs. Alpha Company, 1st Battalion is specifically noted as being an Elite unit with Heavy and Assault tracked vehicles, especially Manticores. It is likely Umcizi was part of the Fifth's Mech Regiment that was virtually destroyed by the Capellan Confederation in 3021.[2][3][4][5] It is unknown what relation, if any, Miko Umcizi has to Kommandant Amos Umcizi of the Twycross TMM in 3050.[6]
