Description[edit]
The Minion advanced tactical vehicle was a joint venture between General Motors and Ceres Metals Industries. With the onset of the FedCom Civil War, however, the mission profile of the Minion was changed from open-field to urban warfare. This design is often deployed with a Morningstar City Command Vehicle to root out stubborn resistance in cities.[1]
The Minion is a fast hovertank, able to top out around 151 km/h thanks to its 95-rated fusion engine. Even so, it is well-armored for a unit of its size, with over a quarter of the Minion's weight devoted to armor as no unit can rely solely upon speed for defense in confined urban terrain.[1]
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The weapons of the Minion are simple and effective. A pair of Defiance P5M Medium Pulse Lasers are short range and accurate weapons that allow the vehicle to move swiftly and still be able to hit effectively. The all important C3 slave unit enables the Minion to share targeting data with other units in its network.[1]
Variants[edit]
- Gauss ("Sandblaster")
- This version developed in 3080[10], replaces all the weapons and equipment of the standard Minion with eight Magshot Gauss Rifles. BV (2.0) = 512[11][10]
Custom Variants[edit]
- Minion "Silver Bullet"
- A product of the Outworlds Alliance and Clan Snow Raven peace talks introduced in 3072[12], the "Silver Bullet" variant of the Minion uses Reflective Armor to disperse energy weapon damage. The Ravens contributed a Targeting Computer to make the Medium Pulse Laser more accurate, and a Laser Anti-Missile System destroys many missiles before they hit the hull. The standard engine has been replaced by an XL engine, increasing the top speed to 180 km/h. BV (2.0)= 560[13][12]
