Miyako Czabo was the commanding officer of the Fifth Galedon Regulars and Chief of Staff for the Galedon Military District during the War of 3039.[1]

History[edit]

On 17 July 3039, Sho-sho Czabo lead a force comprised of the Fifth Galedon Regulars and Third Proserpina Hussars into the Capra system in order to liberate the planet from the Federated Suns forces occupying it. While the departing bulk of the First Crucis Lancers and First Albion Training Cadre—already in the process of moving on to invade Beta Mensae V—captured the Third Hussars' JumpShips soon after they deployed their troops, Czabo's forces made an uncontested landing on Capra itself. Czabo initially sent out small reconnaissance parties to gauge the strength of the FedSuns soldiers left behind as a garrison, before a bold counterattack from the smaller enemy force quickly broke through the Hussars' lines and gave the enemy access to her rear flank. As the Hussars were being scattered, Czabo's Galedon Regulars hunkered down amidst rough and rocky terrain, preventing either the Combine soldiers or the FedSuns raiding force from gaining the initiative. Czabo's remaining troops still outnumbered their enemies, but her refusal to commit conventional forces in a battle against a "pitiful" enemy kept the conflict in a stalemate.[1]

After a week of heavy fighting and harrying attacks, Czabo's lines were heavily strained, even with the successful reformation of the Fourth Hussars' scattered soldiers. Another headstrong FedSuns raid on 6 August struck against Czabo's DropShips far from the front lines, forcing the Combine vessels to retreat to a safer location two hundred kilometers away and leading Czabo to order her forces to withdraw to better positions. This relocation put the FedSuns' base in the city of New Cassandra well outside of Czabo's attack range but it also nullified the smaller garrison force's ability to strike against the Combine soldiers. On 17 October, the FedSuns commander began making preparations for what appeared to be an assault drop before a detachment of his soldiers sneaked into Czabo's camp and stole the Fifth Galedon Regulars' regimental banner. Unbeknownst to Czabo, the enemy garrison had received withdrawal orders two days beforehand and the supposed assault preparations were only a distraction for this last strike against her—the occupying troops left the system the same day with her banner, the Hussars' captured JumpShips, and dozens of Combine BattleMechs and armored vehicles.[1]
