The SLS Monmouth was a destroyer-class WarShip in service with the Star League Defense Force black water navy during the Star League era, and was perhaps the first WarShip to be credited with the demise of the jump point ambush as a form of system defense. The Monmouth was one of the SLDF vessels equipped with a new Lithium-Fusion Battery, which she used to great effect when she was the subject of an attempted ambush in the Brisbane system. Arriving to find a dozen rebel ships waiting in ambush, the Monmouth promptly used the battery system to jump back to the Rollis system. The Captain of the Monmouth subsequently briefed the rest of her flotilla on the presence of the rebel forces, which led to the flotilla jumping into the Brisbane system and ambushing the rebels in turn.[1]
