Description[edit]

The Naga II was introduced as a refit to the Naga dating from the period after the Battle of Tukayyid. After the failures of the original Woodsman and the conversions into the Naga, the Naga II is basically a return to form using similar concepts refined over years of OmniMech development by Clan Wolf. Marrying a massive XL 400-rated fusion engine, an endo-steel chassis and meager armor, the Naga II can be used as a weapon platform to bring massive firepower in quick order, before tactically moving behind the more heavily armored units of its star. During the full mobilization of the Wolf Empire touman, many Naga II came back into service.

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The Naga II main defensive asset is the fact it is fairly mobile with a top speed of 86kph, at least for an assault 'Mech. With only 9 tons of standard armor, the Naga II will not be able to stand for long engagements which are common in the Inner Sphere, but with 31 and a half ton of pod space, it might not need to. In its primary configuration, each arm is loaded with a 10-class autocannon, an Ultra AC/10 in the right arm and an LB 10-X AC in the left, allowing it to punch through armor and exploit holes in said armor using cluster rounds. Each autocannon is fed by 2 tons of ammunitions in drum magazines in the associated arm. For long range support, an LRM 20 is mounted in the right torso, along with 2 tons of reloads. As a final almost afterthought, an ER Small Laser is mounted under the cockpit in the center torso. 12 Double Heat sinks try to keep the machine cool.

Alternate Configurations[edit]

  • Alternate Configuration A
A short range brawler version of the Naga II, the A configuration mounts a massive LB 20-X AC in its left arm, fed by 3 tons of ammunition in the left torso, allowing for a combination of cluster and standard rounds to be used. A Streak SRM 6 is also mounted in the left torso, along with a single ton of ammunition, to exploit holes made in the target armor. For long range support, a pair of ER Large Lasers are mounted in the right arm. The ER Small Laser from the Primary configuration is still mounted in the center torso. To deal with the increased heat curve, 4 additional double heat sinks are mounted. BV (2.0) = 2,160[1]
  • Alternate Configuration B
A long-range missile boat configuration of the Naga II, reminding us of the original Naga, the B configuration mounts a pair of LRM-20s in each arm, along with 3 tons of ammunition in each associated torsos. To improve missile guidance, a NARC Missile Beacon is mounted in the right torso with 1 ton of beacons, while in the left torso is mounted an Anti-Missile System to protect against retaliatory missile fire. BV (2.0) = 2,347[1] (The record sheet in Recognition Guide: ilClan, vol. 26 shows the appropriate number of AMS ammo while the BattleMech write-up on Page 11 only shows 12 shots of AMS, as if an Inner Sphere AMS was mounted on the Naga II)
  • Alternate Configuration C
A general purpose configuration, Configuration C is equipped with a range of weapons to cover almost all possible situations. An Ultra AC-5 fed by a 2 ton drum of ammunition along with a Medium Pulse Laser is mounted in the right arm. The left arm mounts a Large and Medium Pulse Laser, along with a Streak SRM 6 and a ton of ammunition. In the left torso, an LRM-15 is mounted to cover long range combat, with 2 tons of ammunition. To counter infantry, both torsos mount a pair of Machine Guns fed by 1 ton of ammunition in the right torso. An extra double heat sink was mounted to help cover the increased heat generated by the weapons of this configuration. BV (2.0) = 2,177[1]
  • Alternate Configuration H
A Heavy Laser configuration, Configuration H is a combination brawler/sniper, with a Heavy Large Laser and two Heavy Medium Lasers mounted in the right arm for a heavy energy weapon punch at closer ranges. On the left arm is a Gauss Rifle fed by 2 tons of ammunitions in a drum magazine, while in the left torso resides an LRM-20 with 2 tons of ammunitions. In the center torso, to replace the laser mounted in the Primary and A configurations, a Heavy Small Laser is mounted. To try to compensate the increased heat curve, 4 extra double heat sinks are mounted in the right torso. BV (2.0) = 2,284[1]
  • Alternate Configuration W
A Wolf's Dragoon configuration, Configuration W is mainly a sniper meant to compensate the low armor of the Naga II. Armed with modern weaponry and equipment, the right arm mounts an ER PPC, while the right torso is equipped with a Streak LRM-15, with 2 tons of ammunition. The left-arm mounts a powerful Rotary AC/5, with 3 tons of ammunition in the left torso. To protect against close-ranged attacks, an ER Medium Laser is mounted in the left torso and an ER Small Laser is mounted underneath the cockpit in the center torso. All ammunitions bins are protected by CASE II. BV (2.0) = 2,655[1]
