Nicholas Haas was a local governor of Premana who represented the Premana Pacers.[1]
History[edit]
Well aware of the Twentieth Skye Rangers as the regimental baseball team that won the planetary championship back in 2765, Nicholas Hass was distressed to learn that the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces had reinstated the unit and stationed them on Premana. As a representative for the Premana Pacers, Haas believed that a reformed Rangers team would severely cut into their profits.[1]
As a matter of business, Nicholas Haas hired a mercenary unit to strike at various Rangers facilities in the region to prevent them from participating in the baseball league. They destroyed a sports equipment manufacturing and storage site on Rijeka and the planned administrative space and team barracks on Mezzana. Those actions were not enough to deter the Rangers, and Haas noted he could have bribed almost the entire league with the amount he had already paid the mercenaries.[1]
Haas made one more attempt, staging a fraudulent invasion on Acrux to draw out members of the Rangers team who were also enlisted in the military, the theory being that enough Steiner casualties would amount to a weakened roster. It had the opposite effect, however, with these hardships only bolstering the Rangers' resolve and support for the team rising to an all-time high. Haas acknowledged he and the Pacers would need to strategize and examine if there were alternative ways to beat their team.[1]
