Senior Colonel Norbert Kingelt was a MechWarrior in the Magistracy Armed Forces (MAF) in the thirtieth century.

History[edit]

Norbert Kingelt rose steadily through the ranks of the Magistracy Armed Forces due to his reputation as a solid commander.

Succession Wars[edit]

In 3024, then-Commander Kingelt led the MacGraw's Marauder battalion of the Canopian Highlanders, stationed on Luxen.[2] At the start of 3050, he had been promoted to colonel and assigned command of the Highlanders.[3]

Clan Invasion[edit]

By 3054, Kingelt had been promoted again to senior or full colonel, as one of three aides to Magestrix Emma Centrella.[4][5] By 3059, he was in command of all MAF forces stationed in the New Colony Region and was co-commander of the Colonial Marshals.[1]

Civil War[edit]

Kingelt was no longer a senior colonel by 3064. It is unknown if this was due to death or retirement.[6]

Personality[edit]

Despite his large size (1.96m/6'5" and 136kg/300lbs) he was surprisingly fast and a renowned painter. Several of his pieces were displayed in galleries across the Magistracy. Though he worked well with the civilian authorities on the Colony Council, he had several disagreements with the council president, Sherman Maltin, whom he viewed as hampering military operations with his slow reaction time.[1]

Notes[edit]

  • Kingelt is last seen in 3059; given the timing, it is possible he was killed in Maltin's 3060 coup, which also claimed the life of Jeffrey Calderon. As a senior colonel to the Magestrix and co-commander of the Marshals, he would have almost certainly been at the Detroit conference when Centrella and Calderon were taken hostage.
