As of early 3028, Stein was a member of the Heavy Lance, Branson's Company, Charlie Battalion of Alpha Regiment. Following the Battle of Misery, where Stein's 'Mech was destroyed, he joined the Dragoons' Home Guard.[1]

Norman Stein was known to pilot a BattleMaster BattleMech, which was destroyed on Misery.[1]
