Viscount Olin Vogel was a personal emissary of Archon Katrina Steiner.[1]

Trellwan Concord[edit]
Vogel was dispatched to Trellwan to treat with the nearby Oberon Confederation, a coalition of bandit groups. On behalf of the Lyran Commonwealth, he negotiated the Trellwan Concord—a mutual defense pact that would give administrative and military control of the planet to the Confederation and its king, Hendrik Grimm III. This would free up Carlyle's Commandos, the mercenary unit serving as the planet's garrison, for duty elsewhere. Word of the agreement leaked out to the indigenous population, which was incensed about the deal. The Oberon Confederation had raided the world in the past, and the natives were generally hostile toward off-worlders.[1]
Death[edit]
A delegation from the Oberon Confederation was to arrive on a neutral third-party freighter of House Mailai to finalize the treaty with a change of control. As the DropShip landed, it unexpectedly opened fire and deployed BattleMechs. At the same time, commandos stormed the planetary garrison base, overrunning it. A small number of Carlyle's Commandos escaped on their DropShip, but Viscount Olin Vogel was captured. He was brought before the enemy war leader, who rejected a suggestion of ransom by fatally shooting him in the chest.[2]
