Baron Oliver Kincaid was a Free Worlds League noble who served in the Free Worlds Guards and later the Nik's Cavaliers mercenary unit.[1]

History[edit]

Oliver Kincaid was noble-born and served in the Free Worlds Guards, one of the most prestigious units in the FWL. Through a series of events, owing to alcoholism and a mean temper, he saw himself dishonorably discharged and became a pariah to both the military and the Marik Court. On the verge of losing everything, he traveled to the Mercenary's Star, where Nikolai Mason found him drunk in an alley in Galatea City. Mason offered him a place with Nik's Cavaliers and helped him turn his life around for the better.[1]

When Kincaid retired, he stored his famed BattleMech at a base on Bernardo, which was then moved to a city on Berenson when the base was decommissioned. In one of his final requests before his death in 3023, he bequeathed his family's Archer to Nikolai's son Jake, feeling that he owed Nikolai a debt for saving his life. Unfortunately, the 'Mech became the center of a disagreement between the baron's daughter Kate and his estranged son, Bowen, and required Nik's Cavaliers to assist in bringing it to a close.[1]

BattleMech[edit]

Oliver Kincaid piloted a custom Archer nicknamed Agincourt. When asked to explain why he chose that name, he replied it was to remind him of how powerful the turns of fate can be, and to work hard to earn back what he once had.[2]
