Description[edit]

The Opossum is DiNapoli Industries' first product, a small SalvageMech that stands out for its low cost, high reliability, and advanced sensors. It is designed for equipment retrieval, spot repairs, and on-field damage diagnostics. The basic design is quite competitive on the SalvageMech market, but ineffective in combat.[2][3]

In 3131, 21st Centauri Lancers technician Jon Roberson was permitted to modify his Opossum to include light self-defense weaponry. This modified Opossum performed well against unmarked attackers on Ventabren, catching the attention of his officers, the media, and DiNapoli's owner-to-be Bannson Universal Unlimited. Under Bannson Universal, an official refit kit was released duplicating Roberson's modifications, and as such the OPO-3 MOD found a home in units looking for combat-capable and self-protecting salvage equipment.[2]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The OPO-3 Opossum MOD wields a LAC/2 that takes up much of the right arm, assisted by an advanced fire control system. Its left arm, a salvage arm, remains dedicated to the 'Mech's original purpose. Heavy industrial armor keeps the Opossum somewhat protected.[2]
