Orion A was the name given to a molecular cloud located 675 lightyears beyond the Orion Rift in the spinward region of the Deep Periphery, approximately 1,600 light years from Terra, and is one of three major molecular clouds to be found in the region—the others being the Orion Rift and smaller Orion B.[1] The provided coordinates designate the cloud's center point.
