Ostola Stellwar was the commanding officer of the First Lyran Regulars during the Fourth Succession War and Clan Invasion.

As a Leutnant-Colonel in command of the First Lyran Regulars Ostola Stellwar performed well in both the Fourth Succession War and the War of 3039.[2][3]. After the AFFC reorganization he was a Leftenant-General, still commanding the First and stationed on Ridderkerk.[4]
Just prior to the invasion by Clan Wolf in July 3050, Stellwar was involved in a traffic accident and in a coma. The First died around him in less than a day, and later Stellwar passed as well.[1]

The accounts of the Battle of Ridderkerk in Wolf Clan Sourcebook and ClanTroops are mostly incompatible. Both were published in 1991 but given repeated issues with fidelity in ClanTroops that version of events is presented below as an alternative account.
- Old age and stubborness cause Stellwar to dismiss the Clan threat as merely extraordinarily successful pirates. He passed the intelligence to their subordinates, but did not change his mind and his response plan. The 1st of July Clan Wolf forces issued a challenge to the defenders of Ridderkerk, a message the General ignored. He ordered his troops to dig in and planned to use his infantry as perimeter defense, followed by support armor and finally his BattleMech forces. He did not commit any recon or quick-response group and simply remained dug-in just outside Thelma Forest. By digging in and throwing only his infantry at the advancing Elementals, Stellwar forced his troops down the path of certain defeat. Despite valiant efforts and a number of units that directly disobeyed his orders, Clan Wolf all but destroyed the once-fearsome First Lyran Regulars within a matter of hours.[3]
