Dark Age[edit]
In 3144, First Prince Caleb Davion choose Palmyra as an assembly point for Operation MANDRAGORA, his planned invasion of Draconis Combine. Instead, the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery struck first and, in the ensuing Palmyra Disaster, annihilated the gathered Armed Forces of the Federated Suns force and slew First Prince Davion.[43]
In the aftermath, surviving AFFS troops went to ground on Palmyra and despite lacking BattleMechs, waged a guerrilla war against the Combine garrison. On Christmas Day 3150, when a company from First Battalion, Fourth Davion Irregulars was intercepted by elements of the Second New Samarkand Regulars, these survivors of the Palmyra Disaster came to their compatriots' aid, driving the DCMS troops off.[44]
ilClan Era[edit]
Palmyra remained in the Combine's Dragon's Tongue for two more years. After New Avalon was liberated, the Suns launched Operation SOLAR FLARE, the reconquest of the Tongue's remaining worlds. Palmyra, due to its symbolic value, was attacked by a force led by Erik Sandoval-Groell, the Prince's Champion. After a fierce space battle, McFadden's Sky Storm were driven off the system. By then, the survivors of the Palmyra Disaster had risen up, attacking the DCMS planetary militia, helping the reinforcements to free the planet.[45]
