Patrick Larkin was a freelancer for FASA and worked with Jordan Weisman to create the BattleTech backstory which first appeared in Stardate magazine as Before the Succession Wars, with a revised version as the introduction in MechWarrior: The BattleTech Role Playing Game as well as developing the history and background for much of the early universe.
